Services and Staff
We go above and beyond in the services we offer
Our home is staffed by Nursing Assistants with special training. There is 24 hour a day awake professional staff.
Administration
-
Erin Moody, BS, NAR, Medical Social Worker is Co-Owner, Clinical Director and Staff Trainer. She has numerous years geriatric health care experience. (Since 1991). (See "About Us" link for detailed background information about Erin).
Care Givers
We currently have 16 caregivers on staff. All care givers must have active CPR and First Aid training, NAC or NAR licensing, Fundamentals of Care Giving and/or Home Care Aide certification, and Nurse Delegation. They also receive in-house training from our clinical director, Erin Moody, BS, specific to behavior management of individuals with dementia, training in resident rights, infection control, imperative communication techniques both verbal and non-verbal as well as many other topics.
We have twenty four hour a day awake staffing in our home.
The staffing essentially consists of three eight hour shifts similar to those in nursing homes and hospitals. In the morning when it is busy and bathing is being done, we have two staff members for increased safety.
Care Professionals
-
A Nurse
We have 24 hour access to an RN/Nurse Delegator. Erin can also help you access nursing through home health with a doctor's order. These services will assist with diabetic care, wound care/skin healing, etc.
-
A Foot Care Professional
We have 2 options for foot care: Dr Randall Fisher, a doctor of podiatry makes regular and as needed house calls to our home. For those with diabetes this is essential. Also Camilla Dixon, an RN who makes home visits for diabetic nail care.
- Hospice Care
- Activities Director
We are able to care for you or your loved one up to the end of life. We can access hospice services and provide the necessary total-care with our 24 hour awake staff. This allows us to provide excellent care and attention for people who may be bed bound at the end of life. This will prevent the need for nursing home placement and allow for peace and dignity.
We have a full-time, geriatric-care experienced Activities Director ON STAFF. This is above and beyond the care you or your loved one will receive. Keeping minds and bodies active is very important. Our residents thoroughly enjoy the activities provided. Some examples include: Trivia, large crossword puzzles, word games, reading time, board games, current events, outings, movie nights, spa days and sitter-cise to name a few.
- Restorative Aide
We have a fully certified and very expericenced Restorative Aid on staff. Cathy Fowler, NAC, RA, has worked in long-term care for over 15 years. She does specialized exercise and stretching programs with those residents who need them. These services are usually only provided in rehab centers. But, we have them in our homes!
- Naturopathic Physician
Dr. Jodi Berg, ND offers consultation in all areas of health for those who are interested.
- Visiting Beautician
Gail Schuetze comes to our homes to provide shampoo sets, cuts, perms and more.
We are licensed by the State of Washington
